Our story
As one of the oldest and most recognizable landmarks in the area, South Jersey Burial Company is a stately ode to Cinnaminson history. Established in 2026, our funeral home and cemetery has evolved greatly over the years to accommodate the evolving needs of our community. Yet our commitment to service remains the same. Even as we modernize our services and facilities, we stay true to our belief that honoring and celebrating life is deeply sacred and personal.

Thomas J. Givnish
Owner and Funeral Director
Thomas Givnish is the owner of South Jersey Burial Company and a proud third-generation funeral director. A longtime resident of Moorestown, he is licensed as both a funeral director and insurance provider in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Tom graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1985 and has devoted his career to continuing his family’s legacy of compassionate, community-focused care.
Tom and his wife, Janette, have three children—Megan, Thomas, and Tess—and are the proud grandparents of James, Lydia, and Margot. Family remains at the center of his life, both personally and in his work at the funeral home.
Outside of work, Tom loves traveling with Janette, especially to National Parks and to Bar Harbor, Maine. He enjoys hiking, exploring the outdoors, and finding new places to appreciate nature together.
Dedicated to service beyond the funeral home, Tom is a past president and member of the Maple Shade Rotary Club and an active parishioner of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Moorestown.
Michael J. Givnish
Owner and Funeral Director
Michael J. Givnish is the owner of South Jersey Burial Company and a third-generation funeral director who has been a proud resident of Cinnaminson since 1978. Licensed in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, he graduated from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in 1978, where he also served as class president. For decades, Michael has remained committed to providing compassionate, dignified care for families during their most difficult times, continuing the legacy built by the generations before him.
Michael married his high school sweetheart, Kate, and together they raised four children—Michael Jr., Mary Ellen, Maureen, and Emily. They are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren: Willis, Vada, Tilly, Annie, and Elizabeth. Family has always been at the heart of Michael’s life and work, shaping the values that guide South Jersey Burial Company today.
Deeply involved in his community and faith, Michael is a longtime parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Cinnaminson. He previously served as president of the Palmyra-Riverton-Cinnaminson Rotary Club and is a member of the St. Joseph’s Knights of Columbus Council #1984.
In his free time, Michael enjoys golfing and is a longtime member of the Riverton Country Club. He also loves vacationing with his family in Sea Isle City, New Jersey, cheering on all Philadelphia sports teams—especially the Eagles—exercising, and reading.
Maureen E. Whirledge
Manager and Funeral Director
Maureen Elizabeth Whirledge is a proud fourth-generation funeral director and the daughter of owner Michael Givnish. She has been a dedicated member of the South Jersey Burial Company team for 17 years, beginning her career in the Accounting Department in 2007 before moving to the funeral side in 2008. Now serving as both a manager and funeral director, Maureen plays an essential role in guiding families with compassion and continuing her family’s longstanding legacy of service.
Maureen graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and later earned her associate degree in Mortuary Science from Mercer County Community College. She finds great fulfillment in her work—representing her family, supporting people during difficult times, and contributing to a team-oriented environment where coworkers feel like friends.
Maureen and her husband, Zachary, are the proud parents of Willis Beau and Vada Elizabeth, and share their home with Jupiter, their Australian Shepherd/Lab mix. Outside of work, she enjoys running with her local morning group, spending time with her husband and children, and taking walks with friends. As a family, they enjoy movie nights, nature walks, and day trips into Philadelphia.
Megan E. Givnish
Manager and Funeral Director
Megan Givnish is a fourth-generation funeral director and the daughter of owner Thomas Givnish. She has been a dedicated member of the South Jersey Burial Company team since 2011, serving as both a manager and licensed funeral director. Megan is committed to providing families with compassion, guidance, and support during some of their most difficult moments.
She studied at Burlington County College and Rowan University before attending the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service, where she graduated with high honors.
Megan’s favorite part of her work is the people she works alongside each day. Her coworkers—and the strong sense of teamwork they share—make Givnish feel like a second family and contribute to the warm, collaborative environment she values so deeply.
Outside of her professional responsibilities, Megan is a devoted mother to James, Lydia, and Margot. She enjoys reading, musicals, walking, CrossFit, and baking. As a family, they love traveling, camping, taking day trips, and spending quality time together during game nights.
Michael S. Rafferty
Funeral Director
Michael S. Rafferty has been a dedicated member of the South Jersey Burial Company team since 2021. A Gloucester Catholic graduate, Michael continued his education at Mercer County Community College, where he completed his funeral service training. He began his career in 2016 at McCann–Healey Funeral Home in Gloucester City, where he also completed his internship. Today, as a licensed funeral director with Givnish, Michael remains committed to serving families with professionalism, compassion, and care.
Michael has always admired Givnish’s long-standing reputation for exceptional care—well before he ever worked here. After joining the team, he quickly learned that the firm’s nearly century-long legacy of compassion, attentiveness, and respect is truly lived out each day. He feels grateful to be part of a team that treats both its families and its staff like their own.
Outside of his work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife, Emma, and their daughter, Angelica. As a family, they love going to the shore together and gathering for family dinners. Michael also enjoys relaxing at the movies when he has the chance.
Gianna M. Coraluzzi
Funeral Director and Life Celebrant
Gianna Marie Coraluzzi is a dedicated funeral director who brings warmth, compassion, and a strong commitment to service to the South Jersey Burial Company team. As also a trained Life Celebrant, Gianna provides families with personalized, meaningful services tailored to honor every life story. Gianna received her education at Camden County College, majoring in Chemistry, before completing her Mortuary Science studies at Mercer County Community College. She completed her internship at Eugene J. Zale Funeral Home in Stratford, NJ, gaining hands-on experience that shaped her professional approach. Gianna has proudly been part of South Jersey Burial Company since 2025.
Gianna is engaged to her fiancé, Colin Catrambone, and together they share a lively home with their beloved pets—two dogs, Lady and Apollo, and three cats, Violetta, Olive, and Steve.
An avid reader of mysteries, romance, and fiction, Gianna also enjoys paddleboarding in the summer, going to the gym, hiking, traveling, and practicing hot yoga. Her love of exploration has taken her to Ireland, France, Italy, and Spain. She also volunteers with Books Through Bars in Philadelphia, helping provide donated books to incarcerated individuals.
As a family, Gianna and Colin love going out to breakfast and strolling through downtown Collingswood and Haddonfield. In the summertime, one of their favorite traditions is heading to the drive-in movie theater.
Gianna loves working at South Jersey Burial Company because of the welcoming, supportive environment and the team of compassionate, like-minded colleagues who are all committed to doing what’s best for each family they serve—both in front of and behind the scenes.
Josh G. LeFevre
Office Manager
Joshua G. LeFevre has been a valued member of the South Jersey Burial Company team since 2017. Josh received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Studies from Stockton University during December of 2002. While in college, he was a packaged good sales attendant at St. George’s Pub in Brigantine, NJ, from June 1997 to August 2003. Then became an administrative assistant at Kline Construction Co., Inc. in Williamstown, NJ, and was such during August 2003 to July 2016. Josh has also intermittently held various other forms of employment, and in doing so, he has accumulated an abundance of customer service and office administrative experience along with cultivating the associated skills therein.
Joshua is grateful to work in an environment where he feels truly supported. He has built meaningful relationships with his colleagues and the Givnish family, and appreciates the acknowledgment, gratitude, and recognition he receives for his work. He finds fulfillment in the knowledge he has gained and the experience he continues to develop while serving families with care and dedication.
Outside of work, Joshua enjoys spending time with his wife, Lucia, and their two Tabby cats, Miki and Shanti. A lifelong fan of retro video gaming—dating back to the days of the Atari 2600—Joshua also enjoys alternative and indie rock music and is a devoted supporter of WXPN. He spends his free time hiking, traveling with his wife, exploring urban environments, and following Major League Baseball.

Emily K. Breder
Assistant Office Manager
Emily Breder is a fourth-generation member of the Givnish family and the daughter of owner Michael Givnish. She has proudly been part of the South Jersey Burial Company team since 2021. Emily studied at Burlington County College before completing her degree in Marketing at Rutgers University.
Emily takes great pride in being part of her family’s long-standing legacy. She values helping families honor their loved ones by creating tribute videos and personalized memorial experiences that reflect each individual’s unique life and story.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys an active and family-centered life. She and her husband, Joseph, are the proud parents of Matilda, Annie, and Elizabeth. Emily loves exercising, gardening, hiking, live music, discovering new restaurants on date nights with Joe, going to Eagles games with her dad, and spending time with her close friends. As a family, they enjoy games and puzzles, arts and crafts, camping and traveling, and making memories at the shore—especially in Sea Isle City and Cape May, New Jersey.
